One of the best loved fall events in the St George area is Staheli Family Corn Maze and Farmland and Pumpkin Patch! This year’s maze theme is “AG-venture’s First Stop” which was inspired by local Maverik gas stations. For those who want more adventure, Staheli Farms also hosts Field of Screams, which happens to be their most popular event!
Get lost with your family and friends as you try to work your way through the corn maze. You can pick your own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch to take home too! Choose the perfect pumpkin, pick it, weigh it and pay for it right there.
This real working farm is complete with sights, sounds, smells and more to give it that country feel. You can ride the cow train, slide down the corn slide, take a wagon ride, and go through the field of screams if you dare.
Look closely at the photo and you might see skeletons escaping the corn silo at the farm!
History of the farm:
The Staheli family farm is made up of 350 acres that was established in 1889 by Frank Staheli Sr. He was a vegetable farmer who immigrated from Switzerland and was also one of Washington UT’s first mayors. Frank built the first rock irrigation ditches in Southern Utah that became the primary irrigation system that is still used today.
Over the years, the farm has been used for many agricultural reasons through a university extension program that has been a major player in the St. George UT and surrounding areas. Today, the family farm is primarily used to produce sugar beets, alfalfa, corn and beef. Each year the Staheli family farm sees an average of 30,000 visitors during the month of October. This event continues to grow every year and the farm adds more attractions to entertain children and adults alike.
2018 attractions include: Corn maze, Field of Screams, pumpkin patch, Spooky Trail, farmland, Witchy Weekend events, Witches night out, one day only-giant pumpkin drop, petting zoo, nightly entertainment, yummy treats and food nightly. New in 2018 is the Zombie Rampage!
