The 24th of July Celebration in St George Utah 2020 will be much different than years past.  Typically there are lots of activities and events throughout the day in and around St George observing Pioneer Day.  There’s usually a parade, pioneer activities, a pancake breakfast, party in the park with lots of fun booths as well as fireworks and a car show. This year festivities have been scaled down because of COVID19 but there are still a few things going on.

Because it is a state holiday, banks, local government offices and many local businesses will be closed.

Pioneer Day at Staheli Family FarmWhat is Pioneer Day you ask? Pioneer Day is a state holiday in Utah. It is celebrated on July 24 each year to commemorate the entry of Brigham Young and the first group of Mormon pioneers into Utah’s Salt Lake Valley in 1847. This day honors and remembers the bravery of the original settlers and their strength of character and physical endurance.

You’ll see flags flying all over St George, up and down the streets of  many neighborhoods and businesses.  Flags with be displayed throughout the state as Utah celebrates it’s heritage and remembers those early settlers who sacrificed so much to get here.

This year you can participate and enjoy the Hometown Pioneer Day Celebration at Staheli Family Farm on Friday, July 24, 2020.  The party starts at 5 pm and ends at 10 pm.  There will be live music, food & shopping, bounce houses, kids games, axe throwing & more!
