There are three really fun events happening in the St. George area in April. Here’s what’s going on.

April Events and Festivals in St. George Utah

Dixie Power Kite Festival

April 13 from 10:00 AM to 7 PM is the 20th annual Dixie Power Kite Festival. Located at the Dixie State University, this annual event aims to promote reading as a habit and encourage students to engage in family orientated physical activity, one of the best being kite flying. Students can earn a high-quality kite workbook for their reading efforts. If they do, the entrance to the festival is free. There’s a lot going on this day including student choirs, activities, events, entertainment, food, and more. There are over 20,000 attendees enjoying vendors, food booths, and of course, high flying kites. Delicious food booths such as Hungry Howie’s Pizza, Kebab Shack, kite Festival ice cream, Pineapple Express, and more. There are also nearly 50 vendors from around our area.

Washington City Cotton Days

April 23 through the 28th is the Washington city Cotton Days. There will be concerts and entertainment, food booths, vendors, activities, and more. Check out the Cotton Days 5K run on April 27 or the parade at 9 AM, car shows, tractor pulls, and an evening around the campfire at the historical Society fireside on April 28 at 6 PM. There’s movies in the park and an ice cream social, Junior rodeo events volunteer opportunities and more.

Kayenta Street Painting Festival

April 27 and 28th is the Kayenta Street Painting Festival. This weekend brings students and professional artists together to create a beautiful chalk explosion. The asphalt is the canvas and this is an amazing event featuring large painted murals unfolding at the feet of thousands of spectators. Sponsored by the Center for the Arts at Kayenta, this event from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM feature sketches of the works and students competition on Saturday and local professional artists complete their masterpieces on Sunday afternoon. There are food vendors, school team events, and of course, amazing sidewalk art. This isn’t your typical, summer afternoon drawings on the sidewalk. This is an event you have to see to believe.

SO, which event are you attending! I’d love to hear your comments below!
