Cedar City, UT Rally Race – Southern Utah Events
The first performance rally race in Utah will be the Cedar City, UT Rally Race this Friday and Saturday. As part of the Bilstein Southwest Rally Cup Series, fans can view the race in designated areas on the course, watch how the mechanics work on the production based cars, meet the drivers and enjoy the finish line ceremonies that will be held on the Southern Utah University campus.
This Cedar City, UT Rally Race will offer exciting competitions along with fun activities for the whole family. Every kind of fan will find this event an exciting one to attend. Therefore, over the two day event, this stage style performance rally race will feature a driver and navigator that will maneuver the competition vehicles through the public desert and mountain terrain roads all around Cedar City. These roads will be closed to the public during the event. Only spectators will be able to see the races from designated areas on the race course.

The earlier you come, the better off you will be. You can check out the teams and their cars at the service areas located in the parking lot of Eccles Coliseum on the Southern Utah University campus. Each day, food and drinks will be for sale for your convenience and will be provided by Southern Utah University food services.
The Cedar City, UT Rally Race cars will be on display in the parking lot behind Centro Pizza on Friday night at 7:30 pm at 50 West University Blvd. There will also be event shirts, posters and other memorabilia on sale. You can view the completion of the rally at the spectacular Winners Circle Ceremony that will be held in the west parking lot on Eccles Coliseum on Saturday at 5:30pm.
Friday, you can watch the rally cars battle it out on Greens Lake Road, Kannara Mountain, Dixie National Forest and Iron Mines. On Saturday, you can watch the rally cars on Three Peaks and Iron Mine Courses. Public viewing will be at various designated areas. They are suggesting come early to get in a safe designated viewing area before the roads close for the race.

About Cedar City, UT Rally Race
The competitors race in segments on controlled public roads. They try to get from the beginning to the end of each stage as fast as they can. Unlike most other forms of motor sports, there is no practice allowed in this race and the teams are only allowed two passes to review the course at the public speed limit before the event. This is also called recce or reconnaissance ride.
When in competition, the navigator will bark out the route instructions while the drive proceeds, many times at speeds in excess of 80 mph through the mountains, forest and desert terrain. The cars all all street-legal to allow driving on public roads between racing stages. They are also compact and sub-compact cars and trucks with various amounts of performance modifications depending on the class they are racing in. This race has become an exciting event as spectators get to watch these compact cars and trucks speed at high speeds through the winding roads, woods and mountain terrains.
