The return of Southern Utah’s International Documentary Film Festival will soon be here. In association with Dixie State College, the film festival will come to St. George, UT from September 5 through September 9, 2012. This is a not to miss opportunity since it is touted as one of the nation’s best small town film festivals of 2012 by the Public Broadcasting System.
Throughout the five day event, you can view top rated documentary films all over Southern Utah with special events and screening parties. You will even have the opportunity to talk to directors, producers, academicians, and field experts. The films are here for the community to enjoy with open discussion.
The feature opening night of the festival will be Wednesday, September 5th beginning at 7:45pm at the DSC Encampment Mall. The kick off will be a free starlight screening of “Hip Hop Maestro”, a forty minute film that celebrates dance and music.
September 7 films will feature “Awaken the Dragon” and “Running Through”, a series of films featuring athletes who have overcome extraordinary odds to achieve success.
September 8 films will feature “Terra Blight” and “Pad Yatra”, an eco-friendly series.
September 9 films will feature “Raid of the Rainbow Lounge”, “Life is Strange” and Biblestoryland”, a historical events series. The close of the festival will also be Sunday at 7:00pm at the MegaPlex Red Cliffs Theaters.
Participating venues include Sears Museum & Art Gallery, Eccles Main Stage Theater, Jazzy Java, Red Mountain Resort, MegaPlex Red Cliffs Theater, and 13th & Park. Tickets can be purchased daily for $5 or $20 for an all event pass.
