St George Utah Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch-2015
One of the best fall events in the St George Utah area is Staheli Family Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch! This year’s maze theme is “Thank You Everyday Heroes” This season they chose to honor and pay tribute to our “Everyday Heroes” to thank our Police, Fire, Military and First Responders for risking their lives to servie and protect all of us!
Get lost with your family and friends as you try to work your way through the corn maze and you can pick your own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. This real working farm is complete with sights, sounds, smells and more to give it that country feel. You can ride the cow train, slide down the corn slide, take a wagon ride, and go through the field of screams if you dare.
History of the farm:
The Staheli family farm is made up of 350 acres that was established in 1889 by Frank Staheli Sr. He was a vegetable farmer who immigrated from Switzerland and was also one of Washington UT’s first mayors. Frank built the first rock irrigation ditches in Southern Utah that became the primary irrigation system that is still used today.
Over the years, the farm has been used for many agricultural reasons through a university extension program that has been a major player in the St. George UT and surrounding areas. Today, the family farm is primarily used to produce sugar beets, alfalfa, corn and beef. Each year the Staheli family farm sees an average of 30,000 visitors during the month of October.
