“THRILLER” at Tuacahn amphitheatre near St George Utah has become a tradition at Halloween for many southern Utah residents and visitors alike. It’s the perfect event to usher in the Halloween season and enjoy the mood of spooky ghosts and ghouls! Odyssey Dance Theatre puts on this fantastic display of dance, music and singing as it pays homage to the stars of All Hallow’s Eve. The two hour program includes haunting music, mystical dancing and fascinating special effects.
There’s a number performed by Frankenstein and his bride, mummies a plenty and you might spot a werewolf or two! My family’s favorite performance is that of the dancing skeletons, all done in the dark with black light effects. You’ll also get to see “Bubbles the Clown” and the “Giggle Girl” who sickly laughs her way through “I Saw Mommy Killing Santa Claus”!

Scott Iwasaki of the Deseret News said of the performance – “Odyssey’s Thriller”..a delightful “Dance Macabre”….As for humor, there were bucket loads. Laughs abounded during a “Romeo & Juliet” inspired “Frankenstein & Frankenstein” and “Jason Jam,” a work that used a lot of percussive dancing, a la “Stomp”, that spotlighted three “Friday the 13th” villains dancing with ice picks, machetes and, of all things, chain saws. The whole idea was cool…” Be sure to catch a performance if you can, you won’t be disappointed.
