Another year has come and gone in St. George, UT. This New Year will mark a significant milestone as our city celebrates its 150th birthday. Just 150 years ago on January 17th, the city fathers went to the legislature of territory and asked for a city charter. St. George then became one of the first cities to be chartered in Utah. Since then, several things have happened as our city grew. It was a slow beginning for Southern Utah; however, with the creation of air conditioning and the Red Hills Golf Course, the city’s population grew leaps and bounds. Now, St. George is one of the top vacation destinations and one of the top retirement communities in the nation.
