February 2010 homes sales were strong and up 75% from February 2009. Condo sales also climbed 43% from last year. Year to date, vacant lots sales have doubled since last year. West St. George, Washington City and Bloomington Hills have benefited from the largest year over year sales growth in Washington County. New lot sales were the highest in many months at 25 and resale lots were at 31. New building permits nearly doubled in February over January and building permits for both months outpaced new homes sales by a significant margin. Notice of Defaults and foreclosures dipped in February. A large percent of the recent sales have been cash. The average loan amount has climbed. After months of declining sales it’s encouraging to see home sales up, lot sales up, permits up and foreclosures down.
