Living in Santa Clara

Nestled at the base of the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area, Santa Clara is easily accessible along E. Old Hwy. 91 or Sunset Boulevard, which runs north and south from St. George to Shem/Scivwits. A small community, it offers a quiet and peaceful pace of life while still giving residents access to everything they need. You will find chruchers in the community, as well as historic sites. Santa Clara is one of the oldest towns in the area, and locations with historic significance, like the Old Relief Society House built in 1907 and the Jacob Hamblin House, have been preserved to honor the heritage. Jacob Hamblin, was one of the first founders of Santa Clara discovered back in 1855 as Fort Santa Clara.

There is a charming historic downtown area, where residents can come together and enjoy a beautiful blend of the old and the new. For shopping and dining, St. George is just a few minutes away, and there are also some limited choices within the boundaries of Santa Clara. There is also an aquatic center in town, mutliple churches, shops, restaurants, and markets all along Sunset Boulevard.

One of the significant draws to Santa Clara is its proximity to outdoor recreational opportunities. The Red Cliffs National Conservation Area and Snow Canyon State Park offer hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities amidst stunning red rock landscapes. The nearby Santa Clara River Reserve provides additional trails and natural spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy. The mission of the parks and trail department in Santa Clara is to preserve and enhance local lands and trails for visitors and citizens. There continually growing and expanding Park facilities and open spaces to support Santa Clara’s image of “A Beautiful Place to Live”.

Schools Serving Santa Clara

Santa Clara has several schools within its community but still operates under the Washington County School District. This includes the Lava Ridge Intermediate School, Arrowhead Elementary School, and Santa Clara elementary school. Snow Canyon High School is located just outside the city border next to the Santa Clara City Park and local Little League facilities.
