Fun St. George UT Activities May 2014

There will be a lot of fun activities in St. George UT this May for the whole family. There’s too much to list in one article but I have included several of the top events. You’ll find activities ranging from golfing, dinosaur fun, 5K runs and more.

National Golf Month – Come play on any of the popular St. George UT golf courses and get huge discounts during the month of May.

  • Sunbrook
    $38 for 18 holes w/cart when using the City Cache Card (Reg. rate: $45)
    $55 for 18 holes w/cart without City Cache Card (Reg. rate: $70)
  • St. George Golf Club
    Wednesday Super Special: $30 for 18 holes w/cart
    $40 for 18 holes w/cart (Reg. rate: $47) all other days
    $35 for 18 holes w/cart after 1:00 p.m.
  • Southgate Golf Club
    $42 for 18 holes w/cart.

The Cache Card can be used any day of the week during May. You can also get an additional 20% to 40% off merchandise at Sunbrook and Southgate golf stores. Items tend to go fast so come in early. Get more information and book your tee time at www.sgcity.org/golf.

Dino Days in Dixie – This annual celebration helps us all to remember the discovery of the remarkable fossilized ecosystem that is preserved at the St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site.   There was recently a Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony to introduce the Dino Park are to the museum. The Dino Park area will allow for more hands-on activities for everyone, especially children. During the week of May 4 through May 10, there will be lots of free stuff to enjoy. The Market Reopens – The season for the Market is now upon us. The season is from May 10th to November 1st. Many regular vendors will be returning and new vendors are expected to join in. The season kicks off May 10th. Downtown Farmers Market at Ancestor Square is located at 2 W. St. George Blvd. inside the Square of Ancestor Square.

Information for those interested in selling:

  • Growers – Cost is $5 each week you sell.
  • Bakers – $10 each week you sell.
  • Artisans/Craftsman – $15 each week you sell.

The only additional charge is a one-time liability insurance cost of $25 for the year.

Iron County Children’s Justice Center Run for the Kids – This annual 5K and Quarter Marathon is back again with lots of fun events and activities to help support the Children’s Justice Center and their constant efforts to fight against child abuse. The non-profit organization is serves Beaver, Iron, Garfield and Kane Counties. Awards will be given at the end of the race with a grand prize of a Kindle Fire.
