St George Farmer’s Markets
In recent years, there has been a clear cut shift in the way Americans think about food. We are more aware of how it is grown and what goes into the care of the fruits and vegetables we put on our family’s table. St George Farmer’s Markets not only help you find the freshest produce available, but, when you purchase directly from the farmer, you help stimulate the local St George economy as well. That way, everyone wins.
The St George area offers two different farmer’s markets every single Saturday for your convenience. So, if you have errands to run downtown, come to the Downtown Farmer’s Market at Ancestor Square. But, if you are heading out for a day at Zion National Park, stop by the Zion Canyon Farmer’s Market before you trek through the park.
What: Downtown Farmer’s Market at Ancestor Square
Where: St George Blvd & Main St, Downtown St George
When: Every Saturday through November 1, 2014 8am to 12pm
Local growers set up shop every Saturday at Ancestor Square for St George residents and visitors. Guests will enjoy live music all morning long while shopping the artisan booths.
What: Zion Canyon Farmer’s Market
Where: Bit & Spur Restaurant (1212 Zion Park Blvd, Springdale)
When: Every Saturday through October 18, 2014 9am to 12pm
Seasonal produce, freshly brewed coffee, live music and much more are offered at the Zion Canyon Farmer’s Market. Pick up some baked goods, artisan cheeses, locally grown meat and honey to take back to your St George home for dinner. Need a gift for your wife? There are several handcrafted bath products to choose from. Have an art lover with a birthday coming up? Local artisans showcase their one-of-a-kind works on the second Saturday of every month.
One of the things you will find when you visit the St George Farmer’s Markets that can not be found at most big supermarkets is the interaction directly with the farmer/manufacturer. Not only do you get the absolutely freshest ingredients for your dinner table, but you may be able to pick up a recipe or two as well. Take some time to visit one of these great local St George Farmer’s Markets this weekend. Your family will thank you.
