More About Toquerville

Toquerville was named after an early Paiute Indian chief and the population has grown from just 19 families in the late 1800s. Its close proximity to the Zion National Park has created a healthy tourism economy where the community traditionally has depended on agriculture. Toquerville became its own city just a few years ago at the end of 2000.

Toquerville is located along Highway 17, which juts off south from Interstate 15. At any given day there’s about 20 to 30 properties, land, and homes for sale. Nearly all properties and Toquerville are single-family homes listed between $120,000 and $500,000. There’s a wide range of custom options, designs, and architectural construction as well as several higher priced properties on larger acreages of up to $1 million.

Residents are just about 20 to 30 minutes from downtown St. George and Washington, which offers shops, restaurants, markets, a mall, and more.

Toquerville does have a few small amenities such as bed-and-breakfast is, the post office, parks, and places to stay but most people travel south along Highway 17 to Laverkin for grocery stores and markets.
